For those who just don’t see why Obama winning is good.

I’m sorry it’s been such a long wait for anything new. I”m sure you’re all on the edge of your seats…However, now that the election is over, I feel the need to say something:

When Obama secured the victory, I got on Facebook to see some very disturbing and negative messages about the outcome:

“I’m glad “They” won the election. Now maybe “they” can get jobs”
“Well, get ready for communism”
“Get ready to be taxed to death”
etc.

A lot of statements based on fear. It was really sad to see, but I think I can understand a little of what they are feeling. Let me explain. First, I use 2 different terms in this example:
“LIfe” is a word I use to describe how things were before everyone bought into society. It’s different for everyone, but think about your life roughly around the ages of  13-20. You’ve passed puberty, but haven’t yet had to earn a living for yourself. It’s all about hanging out with friends and having a great time with little responsibility. Usually referred to as “the good ole days”
“The game” is the time after that. It’s  our consumer based society. It’s when we are told it’s “time to grow up” which is code for “work your ass off to get the things you think you want”  and we watch our friends break off one by one to go play the game. The game isn’t real, or natural. It’s created, and it makes almost everyone who WAS happy back then, unhappy if you think about it.

Okay, now that we have that figured out, let’s think of “The game” as a game of Monopoly. It involves building wealth with money and assets and people go broke, so it’s a simpler version of society.

At any given time during the game, some people will be winning and some will be losing. Now if after you played this game of Monopoly for say, 10 years, and you’re finally doing good. You got houses and hotels set up and you’re in a position to win. Now lets say someone comes along and says, “This game isn’t really fair, I think we should break up some of this wealth because people can’t get around the board without going broke.” It’s natural to think, “Fuck that! I’m finally doing well! I’ve be slaving over this shit for 10 years! I’ve given up a lot of fun to stay home and study to get in a position where I could win the game! You can’t take this away now!” It makes sense, but you’re forgetting that it’s still just a game.

Let’s say instead, someone comes along and says, “Wow! You’re doing really well! You’re playing this game great! I want to give you an extra $1,000 because you’re doing so well” Now everyone else is thinking, “What’s the deal? Doesn’t he have enough? I’m almost out of this game, this sucks. I’m working hard, I sacrificed, but I just didn’t land on park place and that guy did. ” So let’s say you actually win the game. You fortify your property, get the good rolls, and everyone else goes broke. Now you have all the play money, all the plastic houses, all the plastic hotels, and what else? Nothing. Just like everyone else. They went broke and can’t play, and you played and won. You both have nothing of value. You both spent years and years playing and got nothing. Now, on top of that you’re alone.

Now think about it as if everyone is having a good time. You’re with friends, all playing Monopoly. Now one friend lands on your hotel and doesn’t have enough money to pay you. What if you said, “Well, this is fun, I like you being here with me. I don’t want you to lose, cause then you’ll have to stop playing. How bout we just ignore that and keep having fun. ” It might not be “fair” it might violate “the rules” but let’s not forget that money isn’t real. Only the amount of time we have to spend with friends and family is real. I call that part “life.”

That’s why people go to work on Auto-pilot and come home drained and unhappy. We need to shed our believe that “What’s mine is mine” we need to realize we’re only has happy and successful as those around us. The rules of the game pit up against each other and we get messed up by that. Why “create” the winners and losers. It’s funny to think that when you are young, the kids who won’t share they’re toys are the assholes. An adult has to come around and tell you that toys are for everyone and we can all share and be happy, but they fail to apply that to their own life. Then it becomes socialism and “redistributing wealth” and everyone freaks out. Don’t be afraid to know it’s a game, it’s not real. If you invest too much in it, you’ll forget.

So long live Obama, let’s share our toys.

Nothing but love,

-Fitz

Fitz, I couldn’t agree with you more. Long live Obama, and for everyone out there that is scared of his “socialist” leanings, get a fucking clue. We are all in this together, and there are people out there that can’t afford to eat or get healthcare for their kids. It’s sad, and not wanting to help them is just as selfish as the child that is “no good” in school. Growing up is so hard isn’t it?
As to your comment on life as a “game.” I like the comparison, because I just have been talking about how everything that we do, besides live, all money, government, religions, are just constructs of an over-developed mind that can reason to the point of making things up out of nothing. And the sad part is that those constructs, and the selfish comfort that people recieve from those things, keep us from realizing, for example, that wars are not “just” and “god” isn’t “on our side,” or anyone’s side for that matter. These comfortable areas are what keep us from stepping back and seeing that we are all just the same, and thinking otherwise is illogical. The scary part is that once you deconstruct the construction, there is nothing left but the necessity to work together for a better life, something many people are too selfish and ignorant to do. Thus goes the game of life.

  2. After hearing that “Obama is a marxist” at work all day long today it was great to hear your rebuttal. I totally agree with you, and the thing that ticks me off the most: half the people complaining today didn’t even f*#king vote!

  3. Only 4 years ago we were demonizing an ally and arguing semantics of breakfast food. Yes, freedom toast. Obama is a big win, but I still believe we’re emotionally retarded.

Random thought: Isn’t it silly how the description of god is exactly representative of his followers? Greek gods were anger, jealous, spiteful, & adulterous. Modern god keeps constant surveillance, makes merit-based judgments, & imposes guilt for sexual excitement. I guess god really is made in our image.

p.s. We’re all pussies compared to the Greeks

    Fitz,

It sounds like you and SDM have some of this stuff figured out. Many people never do. The great irony is that those who learn to play the game, and play it well, too often become consumed by the game, to the exclusion of all else, including family, friends, and society in general. Of course, in the end, these individuals can look back on their lives and proudly proclaim, ” Hey, I played the game and won”. But it will be the same $12 an hour guy shoveling dirt on their coffins as well as mine. I doubt that he will be very impressed.

  5. After quite some time its good to be back on Fitzphone.com!!
Well folks you all do have most of this figured out. The point is to all realize we are ONE. The point of government, organized religion, social class, educational systems, are all tools of separation, tools to make us realize we are not the same. If you remove all of this from the equation, SDM had it right. There is nothing left for us to do but draw back together. Back to what we all know is true but are to blinded by material possessions to admit. This society has ripped and torn us from our very reason for being on this planet. It has turned war into “Glory.” It has transformed our entire way of thinking and people are completely blind to it. Not only that but they dont even want to be bothered with the thought that they dont need their Coach bags and Juicy Couture shades.
I say quit your jobs. Stop paying your non essential bills. Then laugh as their house of cards falls. Watch as GM and Ford go bankrupt. Watch as AIG takes more of your tax dollars. Watch as everyones 401k depletes to almost nothing. That is the right way to do something about this. The elites are the ones who are wrong. They are stealing something that is completely worthless from the good decent people who make the wheels turn on this country. (Monopoly game analogy is almost exactly true. Good insight Fitz.)
And while im at it, tell me why CITI needs $25B? Why does Bank of America need the same? These companies were never EVER in danger of running out of money. So until I get a bailout, Im not giving CITI another cent. Im removing my imaginary money from BOA ASAP. Im leaving the city to live a much more fulfilling life, not paying taxes, and not paying for the insane fossil fuel energy that depletes Mother Earth of her natural resources. Fuck this.

  6. This week Obama announced his new economic plan for the country: “I would like everyone in the country to write a best selling autobiography by the end of my first year in office. Hey, it worked for me”, Obama quipped.
Seriously though, besides the 63 million people who voted for Obama, I’m sure there are millions of others who are now looking towards Obama to repair our damaged economy, which is in the worst shape since the Great Depression. I only hope that Obama can put together a plan that will, at least, begin to turn things in the right direction. I really like the concept of “green jobs”. Jobs like this will not only put more people in this country to work (with jobs that cannot be outsourced), but will be creating energy sources that we desparately need.
I, along with most of the country, am waiting for Obama to take office with baited breath. The anticipation is stressing me out.

  7. Well I have seen no post here since Obama got into office and all the great changes he has made is a joke and all you people are a joke. The jobs have left. So I hope you people get what you deserve for voting for the dumb shit.
